On Wednesday, the Additional District Magistrate of Ramban, Harbans Lal Sharma “in order to maintain Law and Order and public tranquility’ imposed restrictions “under Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code” in Famrote, Sangaldan & Seripura of Sub Division Gool of District Ramban, from 9:00 a.m. in the morning.
In an order, a copy of which lies with The Kashmiriyat, the District Magistrate declared that the “Sr. Superintendent of Police, Ramban shall ensure the implementation of this Order in letter and Spirit.”
Pertinently, a resident of Gool, Mohammad Amir was killed during what the police called an “encounter” on Monday evening at Srinagar’s Hyderpora. Amir’s family, however, denied the claims and demanded his body back.
The family said that they will take to the road in Ramban and stage protests in case the body isn’t returned to them.
