The authorities have imposed section 144 in parts of Kulgam district of South Kashmir following an encounter that raged in Czogam area of Kulgam early morning on Friday.
Five Militants have been killed in the Encounter, all of them are believed to be locals.
However despite section 144 being imposed people have gathered in large numbers near the encounter site in Czogam and in Sopat areas of Kulgam.
Massive clashes are also going on in Churath area of Qazigund in Kulgam.
Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) of 1973 empowers an executive magistrate to prohibit an assembly of more than four persons in an area.
