The BJP criticized the Congress on Saturday for supporting the National Conference (NC) manifesto, which promotes divisive ideas such as implementing two constitutions in Kashmir and opposing the National Flag, accusing Congress of revealing an anti-national agenda.
In a press conference, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh and Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva condemned Congress for aligning with what they described as forces seeking to fracture the nation. Chugh alleged that the NC’s manifesto, which calls for reinstating Articles 370 and 35A, aims to reintroduce terrorism and separatism in Jammu and Kashmir.
He questioned Congress’s support for these provisions and demanded clarity on whether they support dividing Jammu and Kashmir and adopting dual constitutions.
Chugh accused Congress of repeating historical errors by allying with the NC and suggested the possibility of Congress backing a Pakistani agenda.
He claimed that the NC’s manifesto proposes releasing separatists currently in jail and reversing constitutional changes made on August 5, 2019.
Chugh emphasized that the BJP will oppose any efforts to undermine the Constitution.
Sachdeva criticized Congress for allegedly compromising national unity and security in pursuit of power and for supporting actions that undermine the nation’s integrity.
He also questioned Rahul Gandhi’s commitment to national interests, particularly in light of Gandhi’s recent activities in Jammu Kashmir, and his stance on renaming Shankaracharya Hill.
