Senior police and CRPF officers conducted a comprehensive security review in the Chenab Valley districts of Jammu Kashmir on Monday ahead of the upcoming assembly elections.
Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for Law and Order Vijay Kumar, along with ADG CRPF JK Zone Rajesh Kumar and ADGP Jammu Zone Anand Jain, visited Ramban, Kishtwar, and Doda districts to assess the prevailing security situation. The eight constituencies from these districts, along with 16 segments in South Kashmir, are set to vote on September 18.

Vijay Kumar stressed the need for vigilance and robust coordination between security agencies to ensure peaceful elections. He also emphasized the importance of community engagement and urged officers to foster trust with local communities, encouraging voter participation without fear.
ADG CRPF Rajesh Kumar underscored the need for operational readiness and regular mock drills, while ADGP Anand Jain called for additional forces in sensitive areas and effective intelligence-sharing to mitigate security threats.
The officers expressed confidence in the readiness of security forces and the civil administration to handle any potential challenges during the election period.
