Many attendants at GB Pant Childrens’ Hospital Srinagar complained that their shoes have gone missing from outside the ICU and Ward 8 of the hospital.
They alleged that despite reporting these incidents, the hospital authorities were reluctant to examine the CCTV footage.
Qaisar Ahmed, a resident of Alamgari Bazar Srinagar told the news agency Kashmir News Trust that he had bought quality shoes for himself a couple of days ago which were stolen today from outside Ward 8 adjacent to the ICU of the hospital.
“After shifting the patient from ICU to Ward 8, I took off my shoes outside Ward 8. When I came out I found my shoes missing. I reported the incident to authorities and asked them to check the CCTV footage which they declined,” he said adding that after the incident many attendants approached him with the same complaint.
A woman attendant said that her shoes were also stolen from outside Ward 8 of the hospital a couple of days ago.
Qaisar Ahmed said that shoes stealing is a common feature in the Childrens’ Hospital.
“People don’t know about it as such incidents are not being reported,” he said and cautioned attendants to be more circumspect when they enter Ward 8 bare feet. [KNT]
