The Government Forces have called off the search operation in the Sangran area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district after searches of nearly five hours on Monday morning.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 34 RR of Indian Army, SOG of Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation in the area upon receiving a specific input about the presence of Militants in the area.

As the troopers were conducting the search operations, the Militants opened fire upon forces, After initial contact, however, no fresh contact has been established yet.
Sources said that no firing has been heard for the past two hours. “Militants have likely escaped from the spot,” Sources told The Kashmiriyat.

After massive search operations, nothing could be found in the area, the Government Forces have withdrawn from the area.
Locals informed The Kashmiriyat that the clashes that had erupted near the encounter site are still going on.
Meanwhile Mobile internet services have been barred yet again in the Shopian District.
