Shopkeeper Booked By Ganderbal Police For Running Shop Despite Being COVID-19 Positive

To make Ganderbal district COVID-19 free, the local police is continuing its efforts to stop the spread of disease.

A police official told The Kashmiriyat that the Ganderbal police booked a shopkeeper namely Jalal-ud-din Najar, son of Mohammad Sidiq Najar, who despite being COVID-19 positive violated the SOPs and guidelines issued by the District Administration (DA) and opened his shop at Taj Complex Beeharna Ganderbal. He is a resident of Giraj Ganderbal.

The said shopkeeper, who as per the guidelines had to be under home quarantine to prevent the spread of disease, failed to do so.

To this effect the Ganderbal police has registered a case FIR No. 196/2020 U/S 269, 270 IPC of P/S Ganderbal against the shopkeeper.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Shri Khalil Ahmad Poswal (JKPS) taking serious note of these violations again urged the people of district Ganderbal to follow the SOPs and guidelines issued by the administration in letter and spirit, otherwise strict action will be taken against the violators as per the law.
