Shortage of teaching staff makes students suffer at HSS Ladhoo, Pampore

The shortage of teachers in Government Higher Secondary School Ladhoo, Pampore in Pulwama district has put the future of hundreds of students at stake.

Parents as well as students told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the School has acute shortage of teaching staff due to which students are suffering.

They said that school has shortage of English, Botany, Economics, Environmental science Lecturers.

The staff shortage does not catch the attention of top brass of the education department as this higher secondary school having hundreds of students enrolled has shortage of lecturers of main subjects.

Students said that schools have opened after almost three years and we want to study but staff shortage has put our future at stake.

Around one month has passed since schools have been reopened but authorities have failed to send teachers here due to which we suffering.

A 12th class student said there is no English teacher, no economics teacher and no environmental science teacher which are his three main subjects.

“I have political science as my fourth subject for which a primary school teacher has been sent to taught us. I have spent a day at school for just a single class,” he alleged. “We have brought this issue in notice of higher ups several times but to no avail.”

The students requested higher ups to look into the matter and make arrangements of teachers at an earliest so that students won’t suffer any more.

Meanwhile, Principal of the institution M A Mir while talking to KNO, acknowledged that there is shortage of few teachers. “English lecturer has two months child care leave while as economics lecturer has maternity leave of one month,” he said.

He added that arrangements for Political science teacher has been made already while as Botany teacher is expected to join in next few days besides that arrangements for other subjects are also being made—(KNO)
