Shutdown continues in Trehgam, 2 women injured in Teargas shelling

Two Ladies were injured when allegedly fired tear smoke shells on protester in Trehgam area of Kupwara

The Trehgam belt of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district is observing a complete shutdown over the killing of a civilian namely Khalid Gaffar Malik.

Shops, Business establishments, Educational Institutes are shut in the area while vehicular movement is very thin in the areas.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that hundreds of people have visited Trehgam, the native of Khalid since Thursday morning to offer tributes to the slain youth.

Khalid who was 22 years old was killed when government forces allegedly opened fire upon protesters in Trehgam late night on wednesday.

The district administration in Kupwara had called for a closure of educational institutes as a preventive measure.
