Sikh preacher’s Kirpan snatched by unknown persons in Srinagar

Unknown persons snatched the sword (Kirpan) of a renowned Sikh preacher in Srinagar district of central Kashmir.

Confirming the incident to The Kashmiriyat, a Sikh activist from Srinagar said that on Sunday unknown bike borne persons snatched the holy sword of Gyani Surjeet Singh Badal, a resident of Srinagar.

He said that Badal was walking near the indoor stadium Sringar when the bike borne persons attacked him and snatched his sword for no reason.

Asking Police to initiate action against the accused, Dr. kulbeer Singh said, “This is first ever such incident witnessed by me in my lifetime in Kashmir. There should be strict action against the culprits as these incidents could create fear.”

Sikh youth from Srinagar along with Surjeet Singh Badal and Angad Singh Khalsa registered a written Complaint at Shergarhi Police station, Srinagar.

“This is a highly disrespectful act and attack on article of faith,” Angad said, while demanding action against the culprits.
