Sikhs Open Doors for Stranded Kashmiri Passengers in Jammu, Provide Free Langar in Guruduwaras

February 12

The Sikh community in Jammu has once again won the hearts of millions of Kashmiris by opening the doors of Gurduwaras for stranded Kashmir passengers.

They have arranged free food in Gurduwaras as sections of Local populace of Jammu continue to hold protest against the Kashmir passengers.

In messages being widely circulated on Whatsapp and Facebook groups, the members of the community have asked stranded Kashmir passengers to visit gurduwaras where food has been arranged for the passengers.

”All Kashmiri passengers stranded in Jammu can visit Jammu Gurduwaras including one at Chand Kour, BC Road, Nanak Nagar and Digiana Ashram,” a message read.

Stranded Kashmir passengers had said that on Monday Jammu locals closed the gate of the ground where Kashmiris had been asked to assemble to be airlifted, disallowing the movement of hundreds of Kashmiris and later hurled stones towards the ground from outside.

“Later, the students who thrashed us without a reason, held a protest accusing us of raising anti national slogans, which is totally baseless,” the eyewitness told The Kashmiriyat.

Hundreds of Kashmiris are stranded as the Highway connecting Jammu with Srinagar has been blocked for the past six due to snowfall.

The incident after being reported by The Kashmiriyat evoked sharp response from all quarters of the society.

People’s Democratic Party and National Conference also condemned the incident.
