The Kashmir pandit residents of Shankar Colony in Jammu have alleged a lack of basic facilities in their area and said that the Government has not paid heed to any of their demands since the BJP has come into power.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, senior Resident Chandar Kaul said that the area is living under darkness and there is no proper road in the area. “we have approached the authorities several times, but nobody ever comes to even visit the area,” he said.
Another resident TK Kaul said that the Central Government of BJP has made fake promises and kept none of their promises “Kashmiri pandits are being deceived by one or the other promise, we are provided no services at all in the colonies.”
In 1996, an electric transformer was installed in the area and since then it has never been replaced. “Millions of funds come for Kashmiri pandits, but the money never reaches us, only a few are looting the money,” TK Kaul said.
They alleged that the Government has made hollow claims of special schemes being made for Kashmiri pandits. The Community members alleged that none of the schemes ever reached them. “It is only a handful of people who get benefited from the schemes, The Government has done nothing for the Kashmiri pandits, we are just being used for politics, unfortunately,” the members alleged.
