Slain CRPF Man from Pulwama was Sole Bread earner of his family

Naseer Ahmed Rather son of wali Mohammad Rather resident of Naira village of Pulwama district who was killed by unknown gunmen on Sunday evening near his house was lone bread earner of his family.

Naseer who was posted with CRPF 182 bn in Pulwama, was transfered to Sanath Nagar and was about to join there after two days.

A group of four unknown gunmen barged into our house and asked Naseer to come out with us however within few minutes he was fired upon, one of his family member told The Kashmiriyat.

“On hearing gunshots we got worried, started searching him however we stepped out only to find Naseer in a pool of blood after which we rushed him to the hospital however on arrival doctors declared him dead,” he said.

He was fired upon in his abdomen and he died within few minutes only, he added.

Naseer is survived by a 3 year old kid Afrar, wife, parents and one unmarried brother besides two married  elder brothers who are living separate.

Nelofar Jan, wife of Naseer was in absolute shock with tears constantly rolling down her face. “Where will I go now? Why did you leave me?” she wailed.

His 50 year old father wali Mohammad was shell-shocked receiving mourners. The entire area is in mourning over the death. While there was a grim silence among the mourning men out of shock, the women were wailing.

Naseer is remembered as a good and down to earth person in his locality.

He used to pray 5 times a day and was very humble, one of his neighbour Aijaz Ahmed told The Kashmiriyat.

“We don’t know why was he killed, whosoever has killed him is enemy of humanity and his killing has left whole area shocked,” he said.

Meanwhile PDP youth president waheed Para who is neighbour of slain  cop expressed grief over his killing.

“A friend, neighbour classmate now a cop with CRPF India was killed back in Pulwama. Mindless violence, we are losing younger generation to hatred. Rest in peace”, he tweeted.

Hundreds of people participated in his funeral prayers after which he was laid to rest in his native village amid sobs and tears.

As many as 41 forces personnel, including 20 policemen, were killed and 907 others injured in militancy-related and stone-pelting incidents in Kashmir valley this year.
