Smart city buses in Srinagar fail to stick to schedule, commuters anguished

The Smart City buses plying from TRC via Nowgam to Kanipora have been causing inconvenience to commuters due to their erratic schedule.

Despite being touted as a modern and efficient mode of transportation, these buses have failed to adhere to a proper schedule, leaving passengers frustrated.

According to commuters, the buses often arrive in clusters, with three buses plying within a span of 15 minutes, followed by a long wait of up to several hours for the next bus.

This unpredictability has made it difficult for people to rely on the Smart Buses for their daily commute.

“We request the authorities to intervene and ensure that these buses follow a proper schedule,” a commuter told the news agency Kashmir News Trust adding that it’s frustrating to wait for hours for a bus that is supposed to arrive at regular intervals.”

The Smart City initiative aimed to provide a modern and efficient transportation system, but the failure of these buses to stick to a schedule has defeated the purpose.

Commuters demand a reliable and punctual service, and it’s up to the authorities to ensure that the Smart Buses live up to their promise.

The commuters have appealed to the concerned authorities to take immediate action to address the issue.

They demanded a fixed schedule for the Smart Buses, ensuring that passengers can plan their commute accordingly.
