Hundreds of people on Friday protested against the illegal accusation of Auqaf land by the son of the ex PDP vice president, Sartaj Madani.
Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that people holding the placards, “Put Sartaj Madani Behind Bars” started marching from Dooru Jamia Masjid and demanded punishment against the “illegal occupation” of Auqaf land by a son of Madni identified as Aroot.
The President of Auqaf committee Masood Bodha while speaking to The Kashmiriyat alleged that Aroot has illegally occupied the Masjid land.
“Today we have protested against the illegal occupation of the land to press for the demand that they leave the Masjid land,” he said.
He warned that if the person does not leave the Masjid land, they will intensify their protests.
A PDP Spokesman while speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that nothing as such has come to their notice.
“If anything as such has happened, PDP will support the deserved action against the accused,” he said.
