Sopore Elderly Woman Wanders on Streets After Being ‘Dragged’ Out from Home by Husband and Sons

An elderly woman from Sopore area in North kashmir’s Baramulla district claimed that her sons and husband threw her out of the house, sought the help of the Government.

Bakhti Begum aged 65 on Wednesday appeared in Press Enclave of Srinagar and said, “My husband Muhammad Sultan Ganie has forcibly dragged her out from her house in Sopore township of North Kashmir.”

She said that she had been rendered homeless and is wandering on the streets as her sons are not allowing her to re-enter the house alleging that she approached the authroities including the police to help her, but nobody has helped her as of yet.

Appealing the authorities for their timely intervention, she said, “I want authorities to help me and initiate action against my husband and sons for fragging me out of the house and the inhumane behavior towards me.”
