Two Militants and one trooper has been killed in a gunfight that raged between Militants and Government Forces at Behrampora area of Sopore in North Kashmir’s Baramulla District.
Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that 22 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF jointly launched the Anti Militancy operation.
The Encounter started when Militants fired on a patrolling party of Government forces.
Earlier Forces had launched a Cordon and Search Operation in the area upon receiving a specific input about the presence of Militants in the area, Sources told The Kashmiriyat.
The firing stopped early morning, however during conducting search operations, Militants opened fire from the rubble of the house, but the firing has stopped again.
The Troops as of now have recovered one body from the encounter site, while one more body is expected.
Internet services have also been suspended in Sopore parts, Schools have also been shut.
As per initial reports identity of One Militant has been identified as Reyaz Ahmad Dar of Naseerabad Sopore while as another one is said to be Khursheed Ahmad Malik son of Ghulam Nabi Malik who was missing from Arabal Nikas, Pulwama since Tuesday morning.
