Sopore residents protest against water scarcity

Residents of Gousia Abad area in Sopore on Monday held a protest against the water scarcity in their area.

The female protesters raised slogans against the PHE Department for failing to provide an uninterrupted water supply to their area for the past month.

A lady protester speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that they are without water for the last month and are forced to drink contaminated water. “There are apprehensions of the outbreak of water-borne diseases,” she said.

Locals appealed to the higher-ups to look into the matter at the earliest so that they can breathe a sigh of relief.
