Top Islamic cleric from the Kashmir valley has denied joining electoral politics in the near future.
A news has been circulating since yesterday that Moulana Ghulam Rasool Hami, one of the most renowned preachers from Kashmir valley was likely to join electoral politics.
A close aide of Moulana Ghulam Rasool Hami said that the political wing of the organisation was deliberating upon the thought, however, Moulana Hami has on Wednesday evening made a call of not entering into active politics.
“He will clarify the matter infront of the press today. Moulana Ghulam Rasool Hami is not joining any political party nor does he any affiliation to any,” the aide said.
Earlier, speculation was rife that Moulana Hami, the chief of Karwani Islamic will contest polls from Beerwah Budgam, but the latest development puts these conversations at risk.
