Srinagar experiences hottest July day since 1999

Srinagar has experienced an unusually high maximum temperature today, reaching 35.6°C, which is 6.0°C above the normal for this time of year.

This temperature is the highest recorded in the city during July since 1999, when the mercury soared to 37.0°C on July 9.

As per news agency Kashmir Scroll this recent high places today as the 11th highest maximum temperature ever recorded in Srinagar in the month of July.

The all-time highest maximum temperature for the city remains 38.3°C, recorded on July 10, 1946.

Residents and authorities are advised to take necessary precautions to cope with the heat, especially as such high temperatures can lead to health issues and increased stress on infrastructure.(KS)
