Srinagar is gearing up for an unprecedented spectacle this Sunday as Formula-4 Car display takes center stage, from Lalit Ghat to Nehru Park.
Renowned Formula drivers will showcase their skills, promising an electrifying experience for spectators, as per Jammu Kashmir admin.
The event will unfold along the boulevard road, with races and stunts thrilling the audience along the 1.7km route from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, according to a statement by the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR).
Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, chaired a meeting to ensure seamless arrangements for the event.
Emphasizing the significance of this inaugural event, Div Com expressed its potential to ignite passion for Formula-4 among the youth, marking a milestone in sports offerings for Kashmiri enthusiasts.
He hailed the hosting of the Formula-4 car race in Srinagar as a major achievement, anticipating it to broaden the horizons for sports lovers in the valley, potentially paving the way for new career avenues.
“The adrenaline-pumping race promises excitement and is expected to boost adventure tourism in Kashmir,” he noted.
To ensure the safety of participants, Div Com instructed necessary road maintenance measures, including leveling and black-topping of potholes along the route.
Additionally, stringent safety measures were mandated, including the installation of barricades, deployment of medical teams with ambulances, fire extinguishers, and adequate security arrangements, alongside obtaining drone permissions for event management.
