Srinagar Police arrests three persons for spreading fake post via Facebook, Defaming family

The Jammu Kashmir Police said that it arrested three persons for spreading ‘fake news’ via Facebook.

In a press statement, Police said, Police station Shaltang arrested three persons for uploading the fake news on Facebook regarding the marriage ceremony of a girl from Panzinara claiming that she is about 21 years and the groom is about 44 years and the Mehr in the marriage was fixed at 2 crores 90 lakh and a luxury car was also given to the bride’s family as a gift.

According to the statement, the bride’s family members filed a complaint stating that the post was totally fake and the husband of the girl is their relative from Gujrat. “The actual age of the groom is about 30/32 and the bride is aged 28,” the family has claimed.

Taking cognizance of the issue, the Jammu Kashmir Police arrested Tajamul Alaie, Mohammed Sami Mir, Haroon Ahmad Dar, all residents of Nusrulla Pora Budgam.
