
The summer capital of Jammu Kashmir, on Thursday, recorded a maximum temperature of 35.2°C on Wednesday, marking the hottest June day in the last two decades.
According to Kashmir Weather, this is the highest temperature recorded in Srinagar in June since June 25, 2005, when the mercury had touched 36.5°C.
The all-time highest temperature for June in Srinagar stands at 37.8°C, recorded on June 29, 1978.
The soaring temperatures have added to the discomfort of residents amid dry weather conditions prevailing across the Valley.
