The Jammu Kashmir administration has said that stone crushers and hot/ wet mixing plants will not require any license to operate anywhere in Jammu Kashmir.
The administration notified the new Jammu Kashmir Stone Crushers/ Hot and Wet Mixing Plants Regulation Rules, 2021 saying that there will be no requirement of a license to start operation of stone crushers/ hot and wet mixing plants in Jammu and Kashmir to promote ‘ease of doing business by creating a business-friendly environment.
“The decision will facilitate establishment and functioning of stone crushers, hot and wet mixing plants, and boost the supply of raw material required in the construction sector. This will also expedite the completion of various mega-projects in Jammu Kashmir,” said the official notification.
The move has evoked concern among environmentalists in Jammu Kashmir who say that it is dangerous for Jammu Kashmir and will certainly affect the environment.
