July 18

Several students of Sirajul uloom Higher secondary school Hillow Imam sahib were ruthlessly beaten by local army unit of 34RR located at Woyen imam Sahib, locals alleged.

They said that students of class 8th and 9th were on way to their native village DK PORA however they were stopped by army near camp, taken inside and beaten up by the army men there.

Soon after the news of beating students reached the area, locals staged protest and demanded action against the army men involved in the incident.

Locals alleged that thrashing civilians without provocation, snatching mobile phones and calling to camp has become order of the day in the area.

“Army has made our life hell and we don’t feel secure now even in our houses,” Locals told The Kashmiriyat.

They added that forces have been frequently  damaging  private property in the area from last few months.

Pertinently this is the same army camp who’s men fired on civilians when they hosted an iftaar party there.
