Scores of students from Gun Jahangir village of Bandipora district on Thursday protested over the non-availability of public transport during school hours.

The students, while speaking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that they are facing difficulties in the morning hours to reach school on time which forces them to skip one or two classes every day.

The students blocked Sumbal- road for around half an hour, halted traffic movement, and raised their issue in front of the administration.

The protesting students alleged that they have raised these issues several times with the concerned authorities but nothing positive happened to date.

“It affects our education for getting late every day, the authorities need to look into it as soon as possible to save carrier of hundreds of students,” Naeed Reshi, a 12th-class student said.

The students demanded bus service from Sopore to Sumbal via Gund Jahangir which according to him can ease their sufferings.

The protesting students appealed to authorities to look into the matter and resolve their genuine grievances as soon as possible—(KNO)
