Holding banners and shouting slogans against the National investigation Agency of India (NIA), students of Islamia college in Srinagar hold forceful demos to denounce summoning of Mirwaiz e kashmir, Umar Farooq to Delhi.
The students on Saturday morning gathered outside the college and shouted slogans in favour of Mirwaiz Umar and against the NIA. “They are targeting the Mirwaiz, because he has refused to bow down to their dictation,” a protesting student told The Kashmiriyat, adding that Mirwaiz has always been a victim of political propaganda.

Before dispersing peacefully, the students said they will intensify their agitation if the policy of political vendetta against the ‘top religious cleric’ of Kashmir is not immediately stopped.
Pertinently, the NIA has summoned Mirwaiz Umar to their Delhi Office to which his legal council has said, “he will cooperate.”
The NIA since 2018 has arrested several key leaders in Kashmir including Shabir Shah, Nayeem Khan and several others.
