Zakura campus of Kashmir University has allegedly denied the hostel facility to the Engineering students and left them worried. The students alleged that they are being forced by the university authorities to appear in offline classes.
We don’t have any issue to sit in the offline classes, but I don’t know why the university is hell-bent upon denying us the hostel facility? ” a Student asked.
Aqib dar (name changed) engineering student of the third semester told The Kashmiriyat that everyone cannot afford a room on rent, because most of the students are not financially very sound.
The students said that they informed the university authorities that there are no rooms near the campus. In response to this students were asked to go and take rooms in the Lal chowk area.
Students said that out of 70 students from the semester only 10 students are attending the classes. The rest of the students who have to come from far-flung areas are unable to attend due to the issue of the hostel.
However, when The Kashmiriyat contacted Dean of Zakura campus Professor Muzzafar Andrabi, he was not available for the comments.
