
Summer vacations are likely to start from the second week of July, sources informed The Kashmiriyat.
As per the sources, in view of the extreme heat wave the Kashmir valley is undergoing, the education department is likely to announce the vacations from July 08, 2024.
The vacation has been announced in view of the soaring mercury in the valley with temperatures rising above normal degrees.
The Meteorological Department, on Saturday, reported that Srinagar experienced a maximum temperature of 30.9°C, while Qazigund recorded 30.2°C. In other locations, Pahalgam had 25.7°C, Kupwara reached 31.2°C, Kokernag was at 29.4°C, and Gulmarg noted a cooler 20.8°C.
In Banihal, temperatures peaked at 30°C with a minimum of 21.6°C. Batote recorded a high of 27.6°C and a low of 21.7°C.
Katra reached a maximum of 32°C with a minimum of 22°C, and Bhaderwah recorded the highest temperature at 32.1°C, with a low of 17.8°C.
