The Supreme Court of India has not taken up a fresh plea challenging Article-35A today following adjournment request by the petitioner.
Another petition seeking the scrapping of Article-35A has been filed by a Delhi-based NGO “We the Citizens”., which is due to be heard on August 31.
The petition listed for hearing was dropped by the Apex Court after an adjournment letter was moved by the petitioner Ashewani Upadhyay.
Article 35A was added to the Constitution of India guarantees special status to Jammu Kashmir.
