After almost a decade of war, the Syrian opposition has called upon the major powers to clinch a nationwide ceasefire in coming months.
Talking to reporters in Geneva, after a week-long UN-sponsored talk, Hadi Al Bahra, the Syrian opposition co-chair said that as long as there is no nationwide ceasefire, the political process would never start.
Bahra said that the warring sides need to understand that there will be no final victory on military terms. Syria has troops from United States, Russia, Turkey and Iran, and as such there can not be any solution through military force.
He has expressed hope and expectation from the warring sides to ensure the ceasefire and political process to be resumed.
The Government Co-Chair, Ahmad Kuzbari did not speak to reporters, and no date for further talks has been announced yet.
