65 Year old Woman Injured During Clashes in Pulwama amid CASO

August 12 A 65 year old woman identified as Saja Begum and a youth have been injured in the intense clashes that erupted in the Kar Mohallah of Sirnoo in South Kashmir's Pulwama District. The Massive Clashes erupted during a CASO launched in the Kar gam locality of Sirnoo area in South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that the duo were shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment from where they have been referred to Srinagar for treatment. 17 Civilians Killed this Year in Forces Firing in Shopian

August 11 As many as fourteen civilians have been killed in the firing of Government Forces in Shopian district alone. As per figures available to The Kashmiriyat Shopian District has been the worst hit, the district witnessed four civilian killings on a single day on March 4 at Pehnoo area. On 27 January, two civilians namely Javaid Ahmed and Suhail Ahmed were killed by government forces when army fired on a group of protesters at Ganopora area in Shopian. July 31 Naseer Ahmed Rather son of wali Mohammad Rather resident of Naira village of Pulwama district who was killed by unknown gunmen on Sunday evening near his house was lone bread earner of his family. 581 Militants Killed Since 2015

July 25 The Government forces have killed 581 militants since 2015 while 69 personnel died in ceasefire violations along the LoC and the India-Pakistan border in Jammu Kashmir, Minister of State for Defence Subhash Bhamre told the Lok Sabha today. In 2015, 108 militants were killed by security forces followed by 150 in 2016, 213 in 2017 and 110 in 2018 (up to July 22) along the Line of Control (LoC), Bhamre said in a written response to a question in the Lower House. He said 44 personnel of the Army and 25 of the Border Security Force (BSF) were killed in ceasefire violations since 2015. The LoC and the India-Pakistan border in Jammu Kashmir have been volatile.
