No Leaves to Policemen from South Kashmir

August 27 With the militant attacks on policemen on leave witnessing a surge in south Kashmir, the Jammu Kashmir Police have asked the Police Training Schools in the state not to grant any leave to trainees from the region. In an order to the principals of the Trainning Schools in the state, the Senior Superintendent of Jammu Kashmir Police for Pulwama has written, "In view of the prevailing militancy scenario, no permission/ leave may kindly be granted to the recruit constables of District Pulwama who are presently undergoing BRTC (Basic Recruitment Training Course) in your respective training schools/centres.” Sources informed that a similar order has been issued from other districts of south Kashmir to the principals of police training schools. August 27 SHABIR KHAN clashes erupted in sopore main Chowk on Monday following the new petition that was filed by BJP Spokesman, Ashwini Upadhyay on Monday demanding the revoking of Article 35A. August 27 Intense Clashes Erupted in Government Degree college Of Shopian District of South Kashmir over the attempts to revoke Article 35A. A Student told The Kashmiriyat that students in large numbers shouting slogans in favour of Article 35a hit the streets. At least 500 Locals have Joined Militancy Since 2010

Reports estimate that as many as 500 local youth have become militants out of whom the majority have come from South Kashmir. Hizb Planning to Shift Base from South to North Kashmir- Agencies

August 14 The Militant outfit Hizbul Mujahideen is now shifting focus from South to North Kashmir. So far, their base has been South Kashmir, but after the Operation All Out and the heavy casualty the group has suffered, the Militant group, as per a report is planning to shift its base to North Kashmir.
