Tariq Khan- The Son of a Political Stalwart is a Militant Now

August 12 In the corner of his three storey house, Nazir Ahmed Khan welcomes people who visit him as his son Tariq has recently joined Militancy. On July 25, bullets and grenades ripped through the building, walls damaged by the explosions, ceilings cracked, the windows and doors and glasses smashed to pieces. The house is one of the few testimonies left to a gunfight that raged in the South Kashmir township of Islamabad after a tranquil gap of 13 years. According to Official data, at least 5,368 shops, houses and other privately-owned structures in Kashmir suffered damage from 1989 to 2001. However these growing encounters two more youth from South Kashmir district of Pulwama have joined the Militant ranks. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Adil Ahmed Wani son of Maznoor Ahmed Wani, a resident of Padgampora in Awantipora area of Pulwama District has joined Militant outfit Lashkar e Taiba. 4 Army men Including Major Killed in North Kashmir Encounter

 August 07 An Indian Army Major and three soldiers were killed in a gunfight with Militant in Gurez Sector along the Line of Control in North Kashmir's Bandipora District. Reports suggest that Army intercepted a group of eight infiltrators who were trying to cross from Gurez in north Kashmir. The infiltration bid was foiled and two Militants have also been shot dead, they said. The killed troopers have been identified as Major KP Rane, Havaldar Jamie Singh, Havaldar Vikramjeet and Rifleman Mandeep from Indian Army's 36 RR. Details Emerging.

July 31 Naseer Ahmed Rather son of wali Mohammad Rather resident of Naira village of Pulwama district who was killed by unknown gunmen on Sunday evening near his house was lone bread earner of his family. Another Educated Shopian Youth Joins Al Badr

July 23 A youth from Malikgund area of South Kashmir's Shopian has joined Militant outfit Al Badr Mujahideen, making him the 5th youth from South Kashmir to join the Militant outfit. Locals from the Malikgund area told The Kashmiriyat that the joining of Sheikh Waqar has left the whole area in shock as he was very helping in nature and has no other brothers, only three sisters.
