March 19 Amid an intense crackdown against religious outfits in the Kashmir valley, the Government Forces arrested a prominent sufi cleric, Mohammed Amin from his home in Dangarpora area of Pulwama in South Kashmir. Mohammed Amin, who is one of the most prominent preachers of this South Kashmir leads prayers at the prime Khankah-e-Mir Sahab (Alaihi Rahma) in Washbugh Pulwama. Known for his fearless speeches and vocal support to the families of conflict victims, Moulana Amin has always been a staunch supporter of people's struggles. March 18 Amid a high intensity crackdown against pro Freedom activists and religious groups in Kashmir, the Government Forces conducted a nocturnal raid in Shopian's volatile Sugan area on Sunday night and arrested at least three persons. March 07 Ten days of declaring Jamaat e Islami Jammu and Kashmir an ‘unlawfull organisation’, Government sealed the headquarters of the socio religious party at Batamaloo, Srinagar on Thursday. According to sources a large contingent of forces arrived at the place and entered JEI’s office and sealed it. JeI was banned by the government of India for allegedly supporting militancy, separatists, and to carve out an Islamic state out of Government established by law. More than 200 activists of JeI has been arrested so far.

March 02 Authorities in Kashmir have sealed several properties belonging to Jamaat e Islami (JeI), including residences of some of its activists, police said Saturday, days after the Centre banned the outfit on grounds that it was “in close touch” with militant groups and was likely to “escalate secessionist movement”. Several properties, including residential houses, belonging to various JeI leaders and activists were sealed in many areas of the city and elsewhere in the Valley Friday night, a police official said. February 23 Scores of People including Chairman of JKLF, Mohammed Yasin Malik have been arrested during raids in Kashmir. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that nocturnal raids were conducted in various districts in South Kashmir in which at least 38 people were arrested. They said that nocturnal raids were conducted in Awantipora, Tral and parts of Zainapora in Shopian. The Chairman of JKLF, Yasin  Malik was detained during a raid at his house late night on Friday. Many prominent activists of Jama'at e Islami were also detained, the organization said. Nocturnal Raids have increased in Kashmir after a deadly attack on CRPF last thursday in which at least 45 CRPF men were killed.
