581 Militants Killed Since 2015

July 25 The Government forces have killed 581 militants since 2015 while 69 personnel died in ceasefire violations along the LoC and the India-Pakistan border in Jammu Kashmir, Minister of State for Defence Subhash Bhamre told the Lok Sabha today. In 2015, 108 militants were killed by security forces followed by 150 in 2016, 213 in 2017 and 110 in 2018 (up to July 22) along the Line of Control (LoC), Bhamre said in a written response to a question in the Lower House. He said 44 personnel of the Army and 25 of the Border Security Force (BSF) were killed in ceasefire violations since 2015. The LoC and the India-Pakistan border in Jammu Kashmir have been volatile. 11 ISIS Militants Surrender in Afghanistan

July 23 At least eleven militants affiliated with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria have surrendered to the Afghan armed forces in northern Jawzjan province of Afghanistan, reports said. The Ministry of Defense (MoD) said the militants surrendered and handed over five weapons and six motorcycles to the Afghan armed forces. The development comes as ISIS militant groups intend to expand their foothold in this province. This comes as sporadic clashes are also underway between the Taliban and ISIS militants in certain parts of Jawzjan province. Over 100 affiliates of both the groups have been killed in the clashes.

July 18 The United Nations Human rights Council has refuted the allegations made by India and the Indian Media and stood by its Kashmir report- the first ever UN Human Rights report on Kashmir. The Indian Authorities including the Indian Army chief had called the report "Politically motivated" and the Indian media ran constant stories against the report released by the United Nations on June 14. The outgoing human rights chief had called for an international commission of inquiry into the allegations, but it wasn’t taken up during the last session which ended on July 6. Last week, UN secretary general Antonio Guterres had backed the human rights commissioner. Minor Girl Sexually Assaulted by 15 people in Tamil Nadu

July 17 An 11-year-old girl was assaulted by around 15 people over a period of time at various places inside her apartment campus in Chennai, Reports said. The 12 year old student narrated the sequence of events after which the incident came into light of her parents who immediately filed a complaint with the Police. The mother of the girl in her report to the Police has accused 15 people of sexually assaulting her 12 year old daughter at various places inside the apartment campus. Police has started investigation in the matter and is on a manhunt to nab the accused.

Sources told The Kashmiriyat that 55 RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF laid down the Search operation jointly. "The Operation was launched after troopers received a specific input about Militant movement in the area," Sources said. 4 Year old Raped by Swimming Instructor in Noida

July 15 A four-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a swimming instructor at a private school in Greater Noida, following which the accused was arrested on Saturday. The accused, Chandidas, raped the girl on Thursday evening while giving her swimming lessons at the school in Surajpur, Manoj Pant, the SHO of Surajpur police station, said. The girl later narrated her ordeal to the family members after which they lodged a case against the accused last night, he said, adding the accused was arrested.
