July 13 Despite repeated verbal attempts of the Director General of Jammu Kashmir Police, SP vaid, Militancy is showing no signs of declination. In fact the Army General of India has been constantly asking the local Kashmiri youth to give up arms and asking people to keep their wards away from militancy. July 11 Another Youth from South Kashmir has joined Militant ranks making him one of the at least hundred youth to have joined Militant ranks this year. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that Jahangeer Ahmed Wani, a resident of Ameerabad Tral area in Pulwama has joined Militant outfit, Hizb ul Mujahideen. The 23 year old, a 12th class pass out was missing from his home in Ameerabad Tral area of Pulwama. July 08 An encounter has started between Militants and Government Forces in Khanpora Magam in Handwara area of North Kashmir's Kupwara District Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF jointly launched the Anti Militancy operation. The Encounter started when Militants fired on a patrolling party of Government forces near the forest area. July 02 As of 30 June 2018, a total of 105 militants and 21 Government Force personnel have been killed in Kashmir this year, as per figures available to The Kashmiriyat.
