A video capturing the reprehensible behaviour of a government official, believed to be the Tehsildar of Sopore, has sparked controversy and outrage after it circulated widely on social media platforms. In the two-minute and 20-second clip, the official can be seen resorting to threats and humiliation during a visit to the nearby Tarzoo village of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Expressing their condemnation, the local traders’ body at Tarzoo staged a peaceful protest, denouncing such acts of aggression as “gundagardi” and “unacceptable”. Clashes Erupt in Sopore after Fresh Petition Against 35A

August 27 SHABIR KHAN clashes erupted in sopore main Chowk on Monday following the new petition that was filed by BJP Spokesman, Ashwini Upadhyay on Monday demanding the revoking of Article 35A. Scores of youth including students hit the streets and clashes with the forces deployed in the main chowk of Sopore in North Kashmir. Minor Clashes also erupted in Handwara area of North Kashmir between youth and Government Forces. Article 35a, a special status to Jammu Kashmir bars people from outside the state from acquiring any immovable property in the state.
