Massive Gunfight Breaks out in North Kashmir

July 08 An encounter has started between Militants and Government Forces in Khanpora Magam in Handwara area of North Kashmir's Kupwara District Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF jointly launched the Anti Militancy operation. The Encounter started when Militants fired on a patrolling party of Government forces near the forest area. Earlier Forces had launched a Cordon and Search Operation in the area upon receiving a specific input about the presence of Militants in the area, Sources told The Kashmiriyat. July 08 Restrictions have been imposed in most of the towns in the Kashmir valley on Saturday ahead of second anniversary of Burhan Wani. From Kulgam Mohammed Ashraf Ganie reported that thousands of women and men are seen flocking the houses of the three slain youth who were killed in Army firing yesterday. July 07 Unidentified persons hurled a grenade on a CRPF Camp in Kakpora area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Saturday.
