The Jammu Kashmir administration has issued a notice ordering mass disconnection of consumers with huge electricity arrears.
“Defaulters having huge outstanding arrears, all consumers (except Govt. departments) be disconnected immediately,” read the order.
More than 450 customers who have not paid their dues for a period of over three months will face disconnection, officials said.
The consumers shall be reconnected only after liquidation of their outstanding arrears, the order said.
“Each section is required to submit disconnection ATR for all consumers as per the enclosed list,” concluded the order of Tangmarg AEE PDD.
