
A 19-year-old girl allegedly attempted to commit suicide by consuming some poisonous substance in the Kokarnag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday.
An official told that the girl (name withheld) tried to end her life after consuming some poisonous substance at her home in Zalangam locality of Kokarnag.
He said that the girl was immediately rushed to SDH Kokarnag from where she was referred to GMC Anantnag.
Meanwhile, a teenage boy died of a cardiac arrest in Yaripora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday, officials said.
An official told that the boy identified as Faizan Ayoub Bhat (16) son of Mohammad Ayoub Bhat of Matibugh Yaripora died soon after complaining about sudden severe pain in the chest at his home.
He said that Faizan was immediately rushed to a nearby healthcare facility, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
Notably, the Kashmir Valley has witnessed a surge in sudden cardiac arrests and scores of people have died so far in the valley due to the cardiac arrest—(KNO)
