A 19-year-old youth lost his life in a tragic road accident in the Hutmurah Mattan area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Monday evening.
The deceased has been identified as Saqib Muneer Faridi, son of Muneer Ahmad, a resident of Iqbal Abad along KP Road in Anantnag. According to officials, Saqib was riding a scooty when he lost control and rammed into a road divider, sustaining critical injuries.
He was initially rushed to Sub-District Hospital Seer Hamdan. From there, doctors referred him to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag. Due to the seriousness of his condition, he was further shifted to Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Soura, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated necessary proceedings.
