
A teenage boy drowned to death while taking a bath in Jhori Nallah in Dandote village of Rajouri district on Wednesday evening, officials said here.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the boy identified as Umar Farooq (17) son of Mohammad Farooq of Gabbar village was returning from school at around 3:30 when he decided to take a bath in Jhori Nallah near Hayan bridge.
He said that the boy drowned while taking a both the Nallah and soon after the incident a rescue operation was launched to retrieve his body.
He added that his body was later retrieved from the water body at around 7:15 pm in the evening.
The official said that body of the teenager is at PHC Kotranka and will be handed over to family members after medico-legal formalities—(KNO)
