‘The Kashmir Files’ director Vivek Agnihotri given ‘Y’ category security with CRPF cover pan India

‘The Kashmir Files‘ film director Vivek Agnihotri has been given ‘Y’ category security with CRPF cover pan India, as per government sources.

According to the sources, the MHA’s decision came after the security threat assessment of Agnihotri by Intelligence and other security agencies.

Under the ‘Y’ category, Agnihotri will get eight CRPF personnel, including one or two commandos, besides police personnel.

It is pertinent to mention that the film, starring Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty, and Pallavi Joshi in lead roles, depicts the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley in the 1990s.

While the Hindu right wing regime in India, its political leaders and supporters are endorsing this film, it has been accused of depicting ‘half truths’ and glorifying violence, and thus putting Muslims in vulnerable position, by many.

Since its release in cinemas, many videos have emerged where cinema-goers can be heard openly calling for extermination of Muslims.
