The Kashmiriyat Impact- Three Villages Near Border in Kupwara Get Electricity for the First Time

Three area in Machil and Keran, bordering the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district of North Kashmir, have got electricity for the first time.

In June, The Kashmiriyat correspondent Shabir Khan visited Machil to find that in the age of digitization remains cutoff from the rest of towns merely due to ailing status of education, communication, electricity, health sector and Road Connectivity.

The DDC (District Development Commissioner) Kupwara was also contacted by The Kashmiriyat, who had ensured that the villages will soon get electricity.

The faces of the villagers shone for the first time as electricity reached their villages.

The people of the village are happy that they are getting electricity without interruption.

District Deputy Commissioner of Kupwara, Anshul Garg said that inter-departmental teams were formed to provide electricity to the villages.

These are the areas which remain cut off for many months due to heavy snowfal.

The nine panchayats of Keran and Machhal have a population of about 25 thousand.

The District Deputy Commissioner has said that in view of the difficulties in the villages, he moved the files without delay.
