“They Forgot the Scene where Modi Got India Freedom in 1947,” Modi Movie Trailer Sparks Meme Fest on Internet

March 25

The Narendra Modi biopic PM Narendra Modi has been bearing the brunt of the biggest troll torrent in recent times, Social Media users have expressed dissent and made mockery of the Blatant attempts to project Modi, as seen in the trailer, as the messiah.

“They missed the scene wherein modiji brought us freedom from british empire,” A social Media user wrote on one of the review videos. Another Facebook user said, “Vivek oberoi se acchi acting to Modi khud kr leta h.”

Modi in a scene is seen saying, “Mera Gujrat jal raha hai” which is likely a reference to the Gujrat riots of 2002 where at least a thousand Muslims were massacred. Modi has been blamed for allowing and at times supporting the ‘ Gujarat 2002 anti-Muslim riots.

Modi has been shown as a brave prime minister maintaning the ‘Zero tolerance for terrorism’ rhetoric, carrying Indian tri colour and walking his way past bombs and begins with a Tagline, “Based on True facts.”

The film, is likely to gain popularity with already 1.8 Million views on Youtube and ironically, it will be treated as a historical document like the recent Manmohan Singh’s biopic denouncing him in every possible way.

The movie is being seen as a major boost to woo voters ahead of 2019 Parliamentry elections, in a country where reading has taken a back seat, Curiously, Javed Akhtar, who has been named as a lyricist.

Wife of Javed Akhtar and veteran actress Shabana Azmi on Sunday said the makers of the upcoming film PM Narendra Modi had deliberately named her husband, lyricist Javed Akhtar, in the credits to “mislead” the audience.

“It is quite clear this was done with deliberate intentions to mislead public into believing that @Javedakhtarjadu has written the songs for Mr PM Narendra Modi when the song Ishwar Allah Tere Jahan Mein is from @IamDeepaMehta film 1947 Earth,” Shabana tweeted.

On Friday, Akhtar had tweeted: “(I) am shocked to find my name on the poster of this film. Have not written any songs for it.”
