Thieves steal over 450 Apple boxes in Shopian

Thieves have plundered over 470 boxes of Apples from orchards in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Friday night.

Reports reaching The Kashmiriyat said that over 350 boxes of Apples of Abdul Gayas Khan S/O Abdul Hameed Khan R/O Sofipora and Rouf Ahmad Malla R/O Zainpora were stolen by thieves in Gundbagh Zainpora in Shopian district.

In another incident, over 120 boxes of apples of Farooq Ahmad Lone R/O Bandpahoo were plundered by thieves in the Bandpahoo area of Chitragam Shopian.

Abdul Gayas Khan while talking to The Kashmiriyat said that he came to know about the incident this morning when he with laborers went to the orchard to pack these apples. “I only found two trials there, the apples were stealed,” he said.

“This is a huge amount of money,” he said while appealing to the administration to nab the culprits.

Meanwhile, police have set an investigation into motion.
