Peer Shams-ud-Din, known among his disciples as ‘Peer Sahab’ left for heavenly abode this afternoon at his makeshift accommodation at Masjid Murshideen, after suffering from protracted illness for past several years.

The funeral prayers during which people from far off places converged were led by ‘Ameer-e-Jamaat’ Jammu Kashmir Ameer Ahmad Khan, known in social circles as Parvaiz Sahab, at Masjid Murshideen, with due diligence to Covid-19 protocols. A palpable grief and sorrow filled the ambiance on the eve.

Patron Dar-ul-Uloom Raheemiya, Bandipora, Maulana Rehmatullah extolled Peer Shmas-ud-Din for his contribution as a steadfast and true Muslim.

“Peer Shams-ud-Din was from the lineage of identity of Kashmir Hazrat Molana Anwar Shah Kashmiri (RA) and was himself a scholar and a spiritual personality”, Maulana said.

“He was among the basic members ‘Rukun’ of Dawat-o-Tabligh and given this fact he did a lot of hardwork which ultimately exhibited its effect not only in Kashmir but outside also”, Maulana said.

“He has passed in the way of Allah whilst remaining tied to this land, this Paerwaere (land of sufis and saints), Maulana said adding May Allah give Kashmiris much strength to fill the void, which otherwise has been created in the passing of Peer Sahab.”

Meanwhile leaders of several mainstream political parties expressed their condolence on the demise and invoked the mercy of Almighty to bestow the soul with eternal solace. (GNS)
