Thousands of people on Wednesday reached Tral to participate in the funeral prayers of a local Jaish e Muhammad militant who was killed in an encounter in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that thousands of people defying the morning cold thronged the native of Showkat Ahmad Khan in Handoora Tral to attend the funeral of the slain Militant.
Locals said that the charred body of Showkat was recovered from the encounter site in Chankitar village of Tral on Tuesday evening.
“Four round of funeral prayers were offered by tens of thousands of people for the slain militant,” eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat.
A group of militants appeared in the funeral and fired aerial shots to pay homage to the slain militant, a local said.
Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed in Tral Township against the killing of two Jaish militants.
