The Jammu Kashmir Police has booked three people under Unlawful Activities prevention Act (UAPA) for raising pro-freedom slogans in Parimpora area Hokersara area in Nowpora area of Srinagar.
A Police official said that PS Parimpora has taken cognizance of the incident and acted swiftly to identify the location which about 2.5 kms inside the Hokersar road and also identified the three responsible for the sloganeering during a Muharram procession.
Later three people were taken into detention who have been identified as Sajad Hussain Parray son of Mohammed Yousuf parray, a resident of Nawpora Gund Hassi Bhat, Arif Ahmad Dar S/O Mohd Akbar Dar Gund Hassi Bhat near J&K Bank and Raja Mehboob s/o Mehboob Hussain R/O Gund Hassi Bhat.
The Police said that the trio took advantage of the area and assembled here and raised pro Azadi slogans.
In this regard a formal case has been regd under FIR No 177/2020 U/S 13 ULA(P) Act ,143,188,269 IPC against the above accused. Midnight raids were conducted in which two persons have been arrested and further arrests are expected in the said case and the investigation is going on.
